Phu Quoc Island
Phu Quoc Island is a Vietnamese island off the Cambodian coast and 50km from the Vietnamese mainland.
PLACES OF INTEREST AND ACTIVITIES
- Phu Quoc National Park. More than half of the island makes up the National Park, which includes mount, jungle, hiking trails and wildlife.
- Dinh Cua Rock (Cua Temple). Mouth of the Duong Dong River. Combines a Buddhist temple and lighthouse built in 1937 dedicated to Thien Hau (the Goddess of the sea) who provides protection for the fisherman and vessels that head out to the open waters.
- Sung Hung Pagoda. In Duong Dong Town. Built in the early 20th century
BEACHES
The island is blessed with many great beaches, some less developed than others. Including:
- Truong Beach. West side of the island. Main beach is called Long Beach
- Ganh Da Beach. Northwest coast at the top of the island
- Sao Beach. Eastern side of the island boasting some of the most beautiful beaches
- Cua Can. Western coast on a peninsula
- Bai Dai Beach. On the upper west coast.
Outdoor activities. Trekking, swimming, water sports, hiking, horse riding, snorkeling and scuba diving
It is 45km west of Ha Tien in the far south of Vietnam. The northern part of the island is currently relatively untouched as it is a UNESCO-listed national park.
Other parts of the island along the southern coast have many luxurious resorts, bars, and cafes.
